Chinese and Putonghua Teacher
Snowy Fu completed her Master of Arts programme in Putonghua Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She achieved level 1-B (at least 92% correct) in the National Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC). She has taught Chinese and Putonghua at secondary and post-secondary schools for more than 10 years. She is also experienced in teaching Chinese at IGCSE and GCE levels. Her tutorials aim to help students improve their Chinese reading comprehension using proper techniques such as analysis, induction, appreciation and evaluation. Students are also taught different writing techniques; the planning and structures behind narrative, descriptive and argumentative essays; and how to appropriately use the Chinese language to express their thoughts and feelings.
Mr. HK Wong
Chinese Language (MOI Putonghua)/Cantonese and ESL Teacher
Mr. HK Wong holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Translation from Lingnan University and a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has been teaching Chinese (Putonghua being the medium of instruction), Chinese writing and Cantonese (to non-Chinese-speaking students) at various institutes for a number of years. He has also taught English at a university on the Chinese mainland and at various organizations in Hong Kong.
Mr. Wong has a near-native command of Putonghua. He attains Grade B Level One in the Test of Proficiency in Putonghua conducted by the State Commission on Language Work. Prior to embarking on his teaching career, he worked for over 14 years as a civil servant in Hong Kong, holding various positions including Chinese Language Officer, Executive Officer and Administrative Officer. He is well versed in civil service recruitment examinations such as CRE and JRE.
Louis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University. He is currently working towards his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Louis has extensive experience in teaching IB Psychology to international school students and giving workshops and seminars on Psychology in various NGOs and schools. He uses his clinical experience to better facilitate his students’ understanding of psychological concepts and adopts a fun approach, including interesting experiments, to actively engage them. He is experienced in teaching I/GCSE, GCE AS/ A Levels, and IB Psychology.
Computer Science Teacher
Christine obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Computer Science from the University of Missouri and her Master of Science in Computer, Software and Information Engineering from the University of Sheffield. She also has a Teaching Certificate from the Hong Kong Institute of Education (now known as the Education University of Hong Kong). Before embarking on her teaching career, Christine worked as an Analyst Programmer and a Systems Analyst in the IT industry. She has over 20 years’ experience teaching Computer Science at a post-secondary education institution as a Lecturer. She is capable of teaching Computer Science at I/GCSE levels and beyond.
Spanish/ Psychology/ English Teacher
Gershom is a native Spanish and English speaker who is originally from Barcelona, Spain. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree (1 st Class Honours) in Psychology from Upper Iowa University in the United States. He has extensive experience teaching Spanish to Chinese students in Spain, the UK and Hong Kong. For the past four years, Gershom has been teaching Spanish and English to a wide range of students at different levels in Hong Kong. As a lifelong learner, he is able to speak five languages fluently including Putonghua. He has a keen interest in Psychology and Religion. He is capable of teaching Spanish up to an advanced level, as well as English Language and Psychology.
Geography/ Earth System and Society Teacher
Letitia obtained her MSc (Hons) in Environmental Geoscience from the University of Bristol. She previously attended Aylesbury High School in the UK. She has done research work in the Earth and Space Sciences Department at the University of Washington in the USA and in the Geography & Resource Management Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has extensive tutoring experience in GCSE/SAT/IB Geography.
Geography/ Religious Studies/ Philosophy Teacher
Andrew Tam holds a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Durham University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Having taken the GCE A Level exams himself, he is familiar with the UK education system and exam syllabuses. He has over four years of teaching experience, from helping students with their IB TOK and Extended Essays to teaching Geography, Philosophy and Religious Studies at IGCSE/GCE/IB levels. He adopts an interactive teaching approach supported by well-designed notes. His goal is to help his students develop confidence and actualize their potential in the academic subjects.
Psychology/ Biology Teacher
Wilkie completed his Master of Social Science in Applied Psychology program with distinction at City University of Hong Kong, where he was nominated for the outstanding student prize. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Food and Nutritional Science and Economics from the University of Hong Kong. While he was in secondary school, he achieved “A” in both HKALE Biology and Chemistry. Wilkie has experience teaching IB courses. He adopts an interactive approach and uses daily examples to illustrate psychological concepts and theories. Implications and applications of different psychological experiments are also discussed in class. He makes use of his extensive knowledge of psychology and science to help his students understand human beings from biological and psychological perspectives. Wilkie is capable of teaching Psychology and Biology to local and international school students up to IB/GCE/HKDSE levels.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy, Joe went to graduate school and obtained his Master of Philosophy degree in Philosophy, with a focus on philosophy of language, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Experienced in teaching Philosophy, Joe has delivered lectures and tutorials on various topics such as logic, critical thinking, social ethics, epistemology and metaphysics at the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and other colleges. He is capable of teaching Philosophy at IGCSE/IB/GCE levels.
John is a native Spanish speaker who graduated from a university in Venezuela with a degree in law. For the past seven years, John has been teaching Spanish in Hong Kong at different levels. Apart from being experienced in helping students prepare for public exams such as IGCSE and DELE, he has also taught Spanish for fun, travelling and business.
