Louis

Psychology teacher

    Louis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University. He is currently working towards his Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Louis has extensive experience in teaching IB Psychology to international school students and giving workshops and seminars on Psychology in various NGOs and schools. He uses his clinical experience to better facilitate his students’ understanding of psychological concepts and adopts a fun approach, including interesting experiments, to actively engage them. He is experienced in teaching I/GCSE, GCE AS/ A Levels, and IB Psychology.

    Christine

    Computer Science Teacher

      Christine obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Computer Science from the University of Missouri in America and Master of Science degree majoring in Software, Systems & Information Engineering from the University of Sheffield in the UK. She also has a Teaching Certificate from the Hong Kong Institute of Education (which is now known as the Education University of Hong Kong). Before embarking on her teaching career, Christine worked as an Analyst Programmer and a Systems Analyst. Christine has over 20 years of experience teaching Computer Science in a post secondary school as a Lecturer. She is also experienced in teaching Computer Science courses, including Python and Java programming, at I/GCSE, GCE and IB levels.

      Letitia

      Geography/ Earth System and Society Teacher

        Letitia obtained her MSc (Hons) in Environmental Geoscience from the University of Bristol. She previously attended Aylesbury High School in the UK. She has done research work in the Earth and Space Sciences Department at the University of Washington in the USA and in the Geography & Resource Management Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has extensive tutoring experience in GCSE/SAT/IB Geography, and Earth System and Society.

        Dr Andrew Tam

        Geography/ Religious Studies/ Philosophy Teacher

          Dr Andrew Tam holds a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Glasgow, a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Durham University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Having taken the GCE A Level exams himself, he is familiar with the UK education system and exam syllabuses. He has over six years of teaching experience, from helping students with their IB TOK and Extended Essays to teaching Geography, Philosophy and Religious Studies at IGCSE/GCE/IB levels. He adopts an interactive teaching approach supported by well-designed notes. His goal is to help his students develop confidence and actualize their potential in the academic subjects.

          Wilkie

          Psychology/ Biology Teacher

            Wilkie completed his Master of Social Science in Applied Psychology program with distinction at City University of Hong Kong, where he was nominated for the outstanding student prize. Prior to that, he received his Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Food and Nutritional Science and Economics from the University of Hong Kong. While he was in secondary school, he achieved “A” in both HKALE Biology and Chemistry. Wilkie has experience teaching IGCSE/ GCE/ IB courses. He adopts an interactive approach and uses daily examples to illustrate psychological concepts and theories. Implications and applications of different psychological experiments are also discussed in class. He makes use of his extensive knowledge of psychology and science to help his students understand human beings from biological and psychological perspectives. Wilkie is capable of teaching Psychology and Biology to local and international school students up to IB/GCE/HKDSE levels.

            Joe

            Philosophy Teacher

              After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy, Joe went to graduate school and obtained his Master of Philosophy degree in Philosophy, with a focus on philosophy of language, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Experienced in teaching Philosophy, Joe has delivered lectures and tutorials on various topics such as logic, critical thinking, social ethics, epistemology and metaphysics at the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and other colleges. He is capable of teaching Philosophy at IGCSE/IB/GCE levels.

              Philip Mills

              French/ German/ History/ English Teacher

                Educated and trained as a linguist/translator/interpreter, Philip Mills holds an MA (Honours) degree in European Languages and Literatures from the University of Waikato in his native New Zealand. He is therefore not only a native speaker of English, but also trained and educated in the grammar and structure of the English language. He has also undertaken a transition Teaching Diploma.

                Philip’s very international career has spanned seven countries across Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Highlights include teaching English, French, German and History in private schools in New Zealand and England, and also a significant private sector career in Human Resources in Asia Pacific, during which he devised and taught his own training courses.

                Philip speaks English, French, German and basic Cantonese. His language skills, his training in literary analysis, his people-focused corporate career and a deep life-long passion for reading position him as a strong teacher of both language and literature. He is experienced in teaching English, French, German and History at various levels.

                Venus

                Music Teacher

                  Venus has a Bachelor of Music degree from Kingston University London. She has coached and conducted choirs and given vocal lessons in primary schools. She is also the founder of a programme called 3-hour Speedy Pop Piano Learning for people with little knowledge of music. Venus has given public piano performances in places such as malls, churches, hotels and city halls. She has taught music theory and composition at ABRSM, Trinity and IGCSE levels one-on-one and in small and large-group settings for almost 20 years.
